Pronoun (सर्वनाम)

A pronoun is a word that is used in place of a noun to avoid repetition.

Types of Pronouns:

  1. Personal Pronouns – Used for specific persons or things.
    • Example: *I, you, he, she, it, we, they
    • Sentence: She is my best friend.
  2. Possessive Pronouns – Show ownership.
    • Example: Mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs
    • Sentence: This book is mine.
  3. Demonstrative Pronouns – Point out specific things.
    • Example: This, that, these, those
    • Sentence: That is my car.
  4. Interrogative Pronouns – Used for asking questions.
    • Example: Who, whom, whose, which, what
    • Sentence: Who is calling me?
  5. Reflexive Pronouns – Refer back to the subject.
    • Example: Myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, themselves
    • Sentence: He completed the work himself.
  6. Relative Pronouns – Connect clauses or sentences.
    • Example: Who, whom, whose, which, that
    • Sentence: The boy who won the race is my friend.
  7. Indefinite Pronouns – Refer to unspecified people or things.
    • Example: Someone, anybody, everybody, none, few, many
    • Sentence: Someone is waiting outside.
