Pronoun (सर्वनाम)
A pronoun is a word that is used in place of a noun to avoid repetition.
Types of Pronouns:
- Personal Pronouns – Used for specific persons or things.
- Example: *I, you, he, she, it, we, they
- Sentence: She is my best friend.
- Possessive Pronouns – Show ownership.
- Example: Mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs
- Sentence: This book is mine.
- Demonstrative Pronouns – Point out specific things.
- Example: This, that, these, those
- Sentence: That is my car.
- Interrogative Pronouns – Used for asking questions.
- Example: Who, whom, whose, which, what
- Sentence: Who is calling me?
- Reflexive Pronouns – Refer back to the subject.
- Example: Myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, themselves
- Sentence: He completed the work himself.
- Relative Pronouns – Connect clauses or sentences.
- Example: Who, whom, whose, which, that
- Sentence: The boy who won the race is my friend.
- Indefinite Pronouns – Refer to unspecified people or things.
- Example: Someone, anybody, everybody, none, few, many
- Sentence: Someone is waiting outside.
